TIME Recruitment is currently seeking a Nursing Home Deputy Manager for a national provider of innovative elderly & dementia care.

We are looking for an experienced qualified nurse Nursing Home Deputy Manager to help lead the team at a flagship care home in Pontefract, South Yorkshire. The successful candidate will join a well-respected manager in carrying out a variety of service improvements. A 2017 CQC inspection saw the home rated as ‘Requires Improvement’, but lots of resources have been allocated to ensure that the service becomes compliant again as quickly as possible.

With room for up to 90 residents, the service provides long-term nursing and residential care, with a particular emphasis on providing expert dementia care.

THE POSITION
I am looking to speak with outstanding nurses who are looking for a new managerial challenge. Ideally, you will have prior experience at a senior level within an elderly care environment. Our client is a renowned national provider, aspiring to provide a genuinely outstanding level of care to its residents, and we are looking for someone whose ambitions are in line with that goal.

As a Clinical Deputy Manager, you will take ownership of the care and well-being of everyone in your home, staff and residents alike. Responsibilities will include:

– providing clinical leadership throughout the home.
– assisting the home manager with staff recruitment.
– staff training, development, appraisals and supervisions.
– external assessments of potential new residents at their homes and in hospitals.
– maintaining smooth operation of the home in the home manager’s absence (sickness, holidays, etc).
– ordering and auditing of supplies, medications and equipment.

Operating as a buffer between the Home Manager and the rest of the care team, you will need to be able to inspire, lead and develop your staff. You will need a strong working knowledge of relevant legislation (e.g. MHA/MCA) and ideally, a proven track record at a senior level within care home environments.

DEVELOPMENT
Our client offers a thorough induction programme along with ongoing training and professional development. They have recently introduced a range of technological innovations including an impressive e-learning facility is compatible with tablets and smartphones.

They are keen to develop their staff, with specialist training in areas like dementia and palliative care available. As a Deputy Manager you will also be encouraged to progress through formal management qualifications should you wish to develop further and progress into Home/Area management.

PAY/BENEFITS
Our client is offering a competitive hourly rate of between £17.00 and £17.50 for the right candidate. This is supplemented by the following additional benefits:
