Position: Motor Insurance Claims Handler

Location: West Midlands

Shifts: Monday to Friday, 09:00am to 17:30pm

Salary: £20,200 plus excellent benefits and commission

We are currently recruiting for experienced Motor Claims Handlers who are looking to expand on their knowledge and looking to join a lucrative and well establish leading company within the general insurance sector.

To be considered for these vacancies you will be an experienced Motor Claims Handler where you have gained experience within either an insurance company, insurance broker or claims management company.

Main responsibilities of the role:

Delivering monthly pledge and cash targets on an individual and team basis.

To investigate reasons of non-payment and resolve promptly and efficiently.

Review case history on file assignments whilst liaising with other departments as required to establish status.

Updating the back office system with clear and accurate records of conversations you have had, leaving diary messages of your next steps and time frames.

Reviewing the file, location and road layout of the accident when speaking with the client and witnesses if liability is disputed.

Consulting with your immediate Line Manager over findings and if necessary your next step(s).

Producing a chronology of events through liaising with repairers and insurers if the hire period is disputed, therefore making recommendations of your next step with your Line Manager.

Reinforce payment criteria set out by the ABI if the vehicle rate or penalty for late payment charge is disputed.

Push for commitment from the third party insurer for payment whilst making recommendations to your Line Manager when litigation should commence.

Finally agree all under recoveries with the Margin protection Team.

Skills:

Knowledge of the ABI and GTA Guidelines.

Over 6 months Motor Claims or Credit Hire Claims handling experience is desirable.

Previous high volume debt collection experience within a fast paced target driven environment is an advantage.

Clear verbal communication skills; persuasive and assertive with proven negotiation skills.

Excellent written communication skills; capturing a clear and logical summary of the situation.

Having the ability to prioritise; recognising the importance and urgency to work to tight deadlines.
