Site-based Project Manager / Settle

A company that has been running for decades originally starting as a go to for typewriters and fax machines is know one of the uk’s leading companies in Commercial office interiors and school refurbishment. Having an annual turnover of £20 million per year in the education sector are looking to bring in a freelance project manager to help handle the workload and join the already impressive sized team.

The project is a private school in settle which the scope of works is valued at £600k that is a Grade 2 listed building. The project is to last 12 weeks on-site and is a repeat client to the company that were recommended by an affiliated school previously worked on. The start of the project will be the second week in May where the chosen candidate is required for the first couple of weeks be able to go into the office daily prefer the project starts and understand the job. The Digs to be close to the hemel hempstead office will be paid for along with the shift rate in the office to begin with taking total duration at least 14 weeks with a pay of £260 per day.

Duties of the Project manager include;

To programme, plan and manage the day to day running, co-ordination and delivery of the project assigned to you in line with our branding to include:
Maintain or improve gross profit margin on all projects. Look for opportunities to increase project profitability with effective procurement and possibly through variation orders.
Take ownership of the programme and overall responsibility for the delivery the project in line with the programme and relevant site and quality standards
Manage project and H&S risk management on your projects, and ensure that project sites under your control are in line with current health and safety legislation and company policy.
Highlight design issues and/or omissions at the earliest opportunity
Highlight gaps in sub-contractor work-package appointment at the earliest opportunity
Update management on project risks and compliance to program at pre-defined reporting intervals.
Chair, minute and archive client meetings when Head PM not present.

Workings hours on site are to be 07:30 – 17:00

previous project experience requires someone with experience on listed build projects as well as a proven background in project delivery as a number one on site as well as school refurbishment experience.

Certificates required includes;
Driving licence, 1st Aid, Asbestos Awareness, SMSTS.
