Job title: Senior Residential Care Worker (Children & Young People)
Location: Reading, RG6
Shift: Days 35 - 40 hours per week
Salary: £32,240 per annum

Duties:
As a Senior Residential Care Worker, you will work closely with the Registered Manager to implement the company's policies and procedures, safeguarding the well-being of children and young people. Your responsibilities will include:

- Collaborating with the Registered Manager to maintain and implement policies and procedures for the home's functions and services.
- Ensuring high standards of personal, social, and emotional care for the residents.
- Participating in admissions and discharges, including managing outreach services for young people and families.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
- Supervising, motivating, and supporting colleagues, setting and maintaining high standards.
- Assisting in recruitment, induction, and development of new colleagues.
- Managing budgets and resources effectively to maximize service quality and cost efficiency.
- Representing the home in multi-agency and community meetings.
- Upholding anti-discriminatory practices and promoting equal opportunities for all residents.

Requirements:

- Level 3 Diploma for the Children and Young People's Workforce or equivalent.
- A minimum of 1 year experience in a residential childcare setting, particularly with young people exhibiting emotional and behavioural difficulties.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide colleagues.
- Comprehensive knowledge of childcare legislation, safeguarding procedures, and relevant regulations.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Competence in administrative tasks, financial management, and record-keeping.
- Resilience and the ability to handle the demands of a residential care setting.
- A valid driving license and access to your own vehicle for business purposes.
