I am representing a main contractor based in Birmingham who are looking to appoint a Senior Site Manager within their team

The contractor specialize in fit outs and design & build across the office and laboratory sector.

Job values range from £500K-£5M

Location of works: Birmingham/Midlands

Duties entail:

*Oversee and manage the design and build process for CAT A (Category A) and CAT B (Category B) projects, ensuring successful project delivery within specified timeframes and budgets.
*Collaborate with clients, architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to develop project briefs, design concepts, and specifications for CAT A and CAT B fit-out projects.
*Lead the project team in conducting site surveys and assessments to determine project requirements and constraints, including structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
*Coordinate and manage all aspects of the design and build process, including design development, space planning, materials selection, furniture procurement, and construction activities, ensuring compliance with building codes, regulations, and standards.
*Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and resource allocations, monitoring progress and implementing corrective measures as needed to ensure timely and cost-effective project completion.
*Review and evaluate design proposals, drawings, and specifications, providing feedback and guidance to ensure compliance with project objectives, quality standards, and client expectations.
*Manage and coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors, ensuring efficient coordination of work activities, adherence to project specifications, and timely delivery of materials and services.
*Conduct regular site visits and inspections to monitor construction progress, identify potential issues or risks, and implement appropriate solutions to maintain project schedule and quality standards.
*Communicate effectively with clients, stakeholders, and project team members, providing regular updates, addressing concerns, and resolving any issues that may arise during the design and build process.
*Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and best practices, promoting a safe working environment and implementing appropriate measures to mitigate risks and hazards.
*Prepare and present progress reports, project documentation, and final handover packages to clients, ensuring accurate and comprehensive records of project activities, costs, and specifications.
