Job Specification: Assistant Quantity Surveyor

Location: Warrington

Salary: Up to £30,000 DOE

We are a well-established main contractor seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Warrington. The ideal candidate will be a recent graduate with some relevant experience, demonstrating a keen interest in both fit-out and new build projects.

Key Responsibilities:
- Project Cost Management:
Assist in the preparation of cost plans and estimates.
Review and manage project budgets to ensure cost-effectiveness.
- Tendering and Procurement:
Support the team in tendering processes.
Assist in the procurement of subcontractor packages.
- Variations and Claims:
Assist in the assessment and management of variations.
Contribute to the preparation and resolution of claims.
- Project Documentation:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation.
Assist in the preparation of Bills of Quantities (BoQs).
- Project Types:
Work on a 50/50 split between fit-out and new build projects.
New build projects, including one-off bespoke homes, primarily located in the Northwest.
Fit-out projects in London, occasionally requiring overnight stays.
- Team Collaboration:
Work within a small, collaborative team.
Collaborate with senior team members to learn and contribute effectively.
- Business Growth:
Contribute to workload assessments.
As workload increases, assist in the evaluation and potential recruitment of additional Quantity Surveyors.

Qualifications and Skills:
Recent graduate with a relevant degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
Some practical experience in a Quantity Surveying role is desirable.
Strong analytical and numerical skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Willingness to occasionally travel for work, including overnight stays.
