My Client is a leading and award winning waste management company based in Irlam, Manchester. As a waste management specialist my client offers a wide range of waste solutions from collection to final disposal.

Based from their plant in Irlam, Manchester they require a Process Operative to carry out various duties in the processing and recycling of various waste products that comes to their plant for sorting.

Candidates will be expected to carry out a variety of tasks from FLT driving, driving the company tankers transferring various chemicals across the plant, general labouring and other associated duties that will be involved in the various processes.

Candidates will hold a valid RTITB Counter Balance Licence and will have a good knowledge of health and safety. Also candidates will ideally have experience driving vehicles to 18 tonne and will have prior experience operating valves on tankers also hook-lift experience is an advantage.

Key Responsibilities:

Loading and offloading pallets of chemical and printing waste containers from incoming curtain-side vehicles

Operation of a fork-lift truck for the movement of packaged materials between storage areas and processing areas

Ensuring packaged materials are placed into storage within bunded areas following instructions on segregation of hazards

Assisting with site cleaning duties & ensuring working areas are kept tidy at the end of each day

Reporting problems with production process or equipment to site management and maintenance engineers

Operating a shredding machine, processing waste

Although the above experience is desirable it is not essential as full training will be given to the right candidate who can demonstrate the right aptitude for the role.

The hours of work will be Monday to Friday 08:30 - 17.00/Monday to Friday 10.30-19.00
