Job Specification: Planner
Location: Stockport
Sector: Fit Out and Refurbishment (Bar and Leisure Projects)
Project Values: £10k to £30m
Salary: Dependent on Experience (DOE), competitive with market rates
Working Arrangement: Hybrid
Company Overview
Our client is a main contractor renowned for delivering high-quality fit out and refurbishment projects in the bar and leisure sectors. With a strong reputation for meeting tight deadlines and managing projects in live environments, they are seeking a skilled Planner to join their close-knit pre-construction team.
Key Accountabilities
Planning Support: Assist in the planning process for both pre- and post-contract work, providing effective planning solutions across the business.
Adherence to Guidelines: Ensure compliance with business operating framework guidelines and best practices for programming, planning, and progress reporting.
Design and Procurement Integration: Facilitate the proper integration of design and procurement, while instigating and monitoring performance measurement criteria throughout the project lifecycle.
Resource Planning: Plan resource levels and collaborate with site teams to procure the appropriate supply chain.
Record Maintenance: Keep accurate records and maintain "as-built" programmes for all projects.
Change Management: Introduce and analyze change, ensuring all modifications are documented and communicated effectively.
Information Production: Produce and communicate information in various formats, leveraging both routine and bespoke programme outputs.
Team Guidance: Provide advice and guidance to construction teams regarding the use of short-term programmes.
Qualifications and Experience
Education: Qualified Planner with a relevant degree or equivalent experience.
Experience: Solid experience in planning within the Fit Out and Refurbishment sectors, particularly in bar and leisure projects.
Contract Knowledge: Familiarity with commonly used forms of contracts and a range of performance measurement techniques, including:
Critical Path Analysis (CPA)
Earned Value Analysis (EVA)
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Tender Documentation: Ability to interpret information from tender documentation and assess project requirements.
Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly to various stakeholders.
