£24,600 per year

What the company do

The company specialise in the manufacturing of glues and adhesives. They buy in raw materials and polymers which are dissolved into flammable solvents. They have an immediate opportunity for a production operator

Job Spec - what will the person be doing?

Going to be working in a factory environment operating machinery (non mechanical). This role requires the candidate to understand the nature of working with hazardous chemicals, and the full health and safety issues surrounding them.

The candidate will be weighing out raw materials both liquids and solids and putting them into a vessel which will then make a batch. This process can take anything from 1 - 2 days before the batch will be ready for sampling. The candidate will be required to carry other duties in the factory and/or run multiple vessels. Once the process is completed the liquids then need to be drummed into small pails, drums or IBCs

Whilst working in the factory there will be other aspects of the job that require:

- Good attention to detail, following procedures and instructions.

- Working within specific health and safety guidelines.

- Ensuring that work stations at kept clean and safe at all times.

- Limiting the use of waste materials.

- Ensuring accurate records are kept at all times, using numeracy and good standard of written - English.

- Working to strict deadlines.

Person Spec

Reliable timekeeping.

Attention to detail.

Used to working to health and safety guidelines.

Familiar with Hazardous Chemicals and different uses - need experience in batch manufacturing or chemical manufacturing (ideally both).

FLT License - counter balance.

Good standard of numeracy and written English.

Manual Handling up to 25 kilos.

Machine operative

HMI panels

Counterbalance FLT

Qualifications/Experience Needed

Maths and English A - C

Hazardous chemical experience, or work in a similar environment

Pay and Benefits

Salary/Hourly Rate: Approx £24.6K

Hours of Work: 8am - 5pm weekdays

Holiday Entitlement: 23 days

Pension 8% company contribution, 1% minimum employee contribution

Full PPE equipment will be provided
