We have built a reputation for excellence and have a strong, long-standing client base Commercial & Office Spaces, Universities (Education), Private & Public Hospitals (Healthcare), and various Public Sector clients.
Our work primarily covers the Midlands region, but we undertake projects UK-wide, with a focus on the core sectors of Office Fit-Outs, Education, Healthcare, and Internal Refurbishments. We have a diverse range of projects, including D&B (Design & Build), office refurbishments, and specialist work such as fire door replacements across offices, flats, and accommodations.
Why join us?
A company with low staff turnover.
Opportunity to work on projects ranging from £500K to £15M in value.
Projects span a range of exciting sectors, including commercial, education, healthcare, and public sector.
Supportive team environment, offering career progression and development.
Role Overview:
As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will work closely with the Managing Quantity Surveyor and the wider project teams to control costs, manage contractual obligations, and provide accurate financial reporting.
Your duties will include, but are not limited to:
Cost Estimation & Budget Management: Prepare accurate cost estimates for projects, and manage budgets throughout the project lifecycle, including identifying and mitigating risks.
Procurement: Procure subcontractors and suppliers in line with project requirements.
Contract Administration: Manage contract terms, conditions, and variations, ensuring compliance with both client and internal policies.
Project Monitoring & Reporting: Track project costs, manage financial reporting, and present progress updates to senior management and clients.
Change Management: Identify and manage any variations to the project scope, pricing, and contract terms.
Client Liaison: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers, ensuring successful project delivery.
Value Engineering: Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
Post-Contract Management: Oversee final accounts, disputes, and settlements, ensuring accurate documentation is produced.
Key Requirements:
Experience: A proven track record as a Quantity Surveyor, with experience working in a similar role within the construction sector (ideally main contractor background).
Sectors: Experience in commercial fit-out, office refurbishments, education (universities), healthcare, or public sector projects is desirable.
Project Values: Comfortable managing projects ranging from £500K to £15M, particularly within the refurbishment or fit-out sector.
Qualifications:
Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent qualification.
Skills: Strong understanding of cost management, contract law, procurement, and the ability to manage multiple projects.
Software: Proficient in industry-standard software (e.g., Excel, CostX, or similar).
Location: Based in the Solihull office with travel to sites across the Midlands and occasional UK-wide travel.
What We Offer:
Competitive salary (£50,000 - £55,000), depending on experience.
Company car allowance and pension.
Opportunity for career progression within an established and growing company.
