Position: Quantity Surveyor

Location: Warrington Office (Office-Based Role)

Salary: £40,000 - £55,000 (depending on experience)

Company Overview:

A fast-growing company that has expanded rapidly since its merger with an international business. The company is now looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their team in the Warrington office due to an increase in workload. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in estimating and commercial management within the construction industry.

Role Overview:

As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be primarily responsible for managing the financial and commercial aspects of projects. You will work on a variety of projects across the North West, including refurbishments, fire protection, and electrical works for NHS and hospital facilities.

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a dynamic and rapidly expanding business. The role will be based in the Warrington office with time spent between the office and site visits.

Key Responsibilities:

Estimating: Carry out detailed and accurate cost estimates for ongoing and future projects.

Cost Management: Ensure that projects are delivered within budget and manage any variations in costs effectively.

Project Management Support: Provide commercial support for project managers on-site, ensuring timely and cost-effective project delivery.

Site Visits: Regular visits to various project sites across the North West to assess and monitor project progress.

Procurement: Assist in the procurement of subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring cost-efficiency and quality.

Reporting: Prepare and present cost reports to senior management and clients, offering insights into cost performance and potential issues.

Collaboration: Work closely with the project team, clients, and other stakeholders to ensure all projects are delivered on time and within budget.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Experience: Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, with a focus on estimating and cost management in construction, particularly in refurbishment, fire protection, and electrical projects.

Industry Knowledge: Understanding of the construction industry, with experience working on projects in the NHS or healthcare sector being an advantage.

Estimating Expertise: Strong estimating skills and the ability to work with various cost models and software.

Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with clients, contractors, and the project team effectively.

Attention to Detail: Ability to work with high levels of accuracy and attention to detail in cost management and estimating.

Flexibility: Ability to work in a hybrid environment, splitting time between office and project sites.

Desirable Skills:

Experience in managing projects related to NHS and healthcare facilities.

Familiarity with estimating software and tools.

Experience with managing or supporting multi-disciplinary teams on large-scale projects.

Working Hours:

Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Occasional site visits across the North West, with time split between the office and various project sites.
