Location:

Office and site-based split
Salary:
£40,000 - £65,000 per annum (Depending on Experience)
About the Role:
Due to an increase in workload and continued interest from blue-chip retail companies, we are seeking an additional Quantity Surveyor/Estimator to join our growing team. The successful candidate will work across various projects, primarily within the healthcare sector, and will be responsible for providing cost management expertise alongside estimating duties.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a commercially aware professional looking to further their career in a dynamic and growing team. You will be involved in both office-based tasks and site visits, ensuring smooth project delivery and cost-effective solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Estimating Duties:
Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for various healthcare sector projects.
Review tender documents and specifications, ensuring comprehensive and accurate pricing.
Assist in the preparation of bids and proposals, including quantity take-offs and cost analysis.
Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to obtain accurate pricing and ensure that estimates are realistic and achievable.
Quantity Surveying Duties:
Manage all commercial aspects of the project, from inception through to final accounts.
Prepare and monitor cost reports, budget forecasts, and cash flow projections.
Ensure accurate valuations and claims are submitted in a timely manner.
Provide cost advice and support to project teams, ensuring projects are delivered on budget and to the required quality standards.
Liaise with clients and contractors to resolve any commercial issues and implement cost control measures.
Site Visits:
Attend site visits to ensure the work is progressing within budget and to the required specification.
Monitor and manage costs on-site, ensuring that any variations or changes are recorded and priced accurately.
Client Liaison:
Develop strong relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
Provide advice and guidance on cost-effective solutions throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Requirements:
Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor with estimating duties, preferably within the healthcare sector.
Strong understanding of construction processes, cost management, and tendering procedures.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
Familiarity with construction contracts, project finance, and cost control measures.
Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
Experience in using estimating and cost management software (e.g., Conquest, BuildSoft, or similar).
Full UK driving license and flexibility to travel across England, and occasionally to Scotland and Wales.
Desirable Skills:
Experience in healthcare sector projects is highly advantageous.
Knowledge of building regulations and healthcare-specific construction standards.
