Job Specification: Quantity Surveyor
Location: Manchester
Salary: £40K - £60K DOE
Specialization: High-end fit-out of commercial office spaces

We are a reputable main contractor based in Manchester, specializing in high-end fit-out projects for commercial office spaces. With a commitment to excellence and a focus on quality, we deliver bespoke solutions tailored to our clients' needs. We are currently seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team.
Position Overview:
The Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for managing the financial aspects of projects from inception to completion, with the ability to take on estimating and procurement duties as required. This role is critical to ensuring that projects are delivered on time and within budget, while maintaining the highest standards of quality.
Key Responsibilities:
Cost Management: Prepare and manage project budgets, cost plans, and forecasts throughout the project lifecycle.
Estimating: Carry out detailed cost estimates for project bids, ensuring accuracy and competitiveness.
Procurement: Identify and select suppliers and subcontractors, negotiating contracts to secure favorable terms and conditions.
Value Engineering: Work with project teams to identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or performance.
Project Administration: Monitor and report on project financial performance, including cash flow, profit margins, and variations.
Site Visits: Conduct regular site visits to assess progress, identify issues, and ensure compliance with project specifications.
Collaboration: Liaise with project managers, architects, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment on project goals and objectives.
Qualifications:
Relevant degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Proven experience as a Fit Out Quantity Surveyor, ideally within the commercial sector.
Strong understanding of estimating and procurement processes.
Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
Proficient in relevant software (e.g., CostX, Excel) and industry standards.
