Care Home Manager

Salary: Up to £90,000 per annum

Essex / 45 hours per week / Turnaround Experience

My client has been established for over 35 years and is still a family run healthcare provider, with over 30 care homes across the country they instil family values onto their colleagues, the people they care for and their relatives and friends. Now looking for a passionate and experienced Care Home Manager with a strong background in turnaround management to lead a prestigious care home in Essex. This 100 plus bed, nursing and care facility offers beautiful garden and park views, and is spread across 4 units over 3 floors. As the Turnaround Care Home Manager, you will take on a strategic leadership role, overseeing a large team, including two Care Managers, Nurses, and Care and Ancillary Teams. You will also have close connections with the Support Office and Regional Teams to ensure optimal operational management.

Key Responsibilities for the Care Home Manager include:

- Lead and manage all aspects of the care home with a focus on turning the home around and achieving excellent standards of care.

- Drive operational excellence and ensure effective commercial management.

- Deliver high-quality, outstanding care to residents, ensuring their needs are met.

- Manage and develop strong teams, fostering a positive and collaborative environment.

- Oversee the implementation of electronic systems such as care planning, medication management, and notifications.

- Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and CQC regulations.

- Effectively manage budgets, staffing, and resources to meet the home's operational needs.

The successful Care Home Manager candidate will have:

- Significant experience in managing a large care home, ideally in a turnaround management capacity.

- Strong strategic and operational skills, with a focus on improving care standards and achieving commercial success.

- A passion for delivering 'outstanding' care and creating a positive impact for residents and staff alike.

- Familiarity with electronic care systems (e.g. care planning, medication tracking) is advantageous.

- Nurse qualification (active PIN) is highly desirable, but not essential.

- A solid understanding of CQC regulations, quality frameworks, and legislation.

- Exceptional organisational, planning, and communication skills.

- Experience in budget management and financial oversight.

- Flexibility to work outside standard office hours when needed (evenings or weekends).
