Job description

Job Title: Electrical Estimator

Location: Liverpool

Salary: £40,000 - £55,000 (DOE)

Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent

About Us:

We're a busy, growing contractor based in Liverpool with a strong focus on reactive maintenance and public sector frameworks-particularly in education and healthcare, where we genuinely enjoy working directly with end-user clients. Our team thrives in a fast-paced environment, pricing a high volume of low-value works while also taking on larger, more detailed projects in the £1M+ range.

Due to a high volume of incoming work and a lean Estimating team, we're looking for an Electrical Estimator to bring their expertise to the table and help us deliver accurate, timely, and competitive pricing.

The Role:

As our new Estimator, you'll play a key role in the pre-construction process, with a strong bias towards electrical works. You'll work closely with the existing Estimating team (currently two members) and liaise regularly with our Project Management team, who also pick up some QS duties. This is a hands-on role with real variety-from pricing up small, reactive jobs with quick turnaround times (2-3 days) to taking your time with larger £1-1.5M+ tenders.

What You'll Be Doing:

Prepare estimates and quotations for electrical and general building works

Send out enquiries and manage responses from suppliers and subcontractors

Interpret drawings and specifications to create accurate cost plans

Liaise with the PM/QS team to ensure alignment from tender through to delivery

Work across a mix of reactive maintenance jobs and more substantial planned projects

Take ownership of your work and contribute to the overall efficiency of the estimating function

What We're Looking For:

We're all about people over CVs. We're interested in individuals who bring the right attitude, attention to detail, and team-first approach. If you've got a strong electrical background, love problem-solving, and can handle a high-paced workload while keeping your cool, you'll fit right in.

Essential Skills & Experience:

Background in Electrical Estimating (contracting experience preferred)

Ability to manage multiple tenders at once, especially reactive and maintenance-based work

Strong understanding of electrical systems and pricing mechanisms

Comfortable working to tight turnaround times (2-3 days)

Excellent communication skills - written and verbal

Confident working with suppliers and subcontractors

Self-motivated, proactive, and team-oriented

What You'll Get:

Competitive salary (£40K-£55K DOE)

Supportive and down-to-earth team environment

Opportunity to work on meaningful projects with real community impact

Autonomy in your role with the backing of an experienced team

Career development and the chance to shape the way we estimate
