Mechanical Quality Inspector

Role Purpose
The Inspector's principle responsibility is to ensure that the physical requirements of the companies product's are met through verification of product and service maintaining the highest levels vigilance and rigor throughout the product and service assurance processes.
Main Duties
* Carry out the necessary level and frequency of inspection and testing to ensure Quality & Safety Standards are maintained.
* Inspect materials, parts, sub-assemblies, intermediate inspections along with final inspections for both mechanical and electro mechanical products within the business.
* Ensure inspection of WIP parts, sub-assemblies / assemblies are carried out in co-ordination with the Manufacturing manager.
* Liaise with the Stores Supervisor for Goods Inwards inspection to maintain a throughput of incoming goods that will support manufacturing requirements.
* Attend supplier's premises as required to undertake source inspection of goods and materials.
* Ensure good housekeeping of the inspection department and inspection equipment is maintained.
* Raise Non-Conformance reports and corrective actions, ensuring effective solutions are achieved with-in defined time scales.
* Work in accordance with Company Health, Safety Policy and Statutory Regulations.
* Inspection Equipment / Calibration
* Ensure calibration and measurement equipment is suitably stored and maintained, production tooling complies with latest standards and records updated accordingly.
Person Specification
* Excellent communication skills
* Excellent organisational skills
* A high level of attention to detail
* Willingness to travel
* Flexible
* Ability to achieve SC security clearance is essential.
Skills and Experience
* Experienced and Competent in the use of Multi Axis Inspection Arms, Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) and Standard Inspection Tooling.
* Experience using Faro Arm with DELCAM software (Power Inspect), is preferred.
* Experience of working within an ISO 9001 / AS/EN 9100 regulatory framework.
* Experience and competence with calibration control and document control coordination.
* Experience in in First Article Inspection's / (FAIRs) AS9102 or PPAP and Source Inspections.
* Be competent in interpretation of drawings, technical specifications and standards including GD&T.
* Experience of working in imperial.
Qualifications
* BTEC Qualification in Engineering or Equivalent Training and Experience.
