Job Title: Production Operative

Location: Wythensahwe

Working Hours: Monday - Thursday, 06:00 - 14:30, and Friday, 06:00 - 13:30 (40-hour working week, with a 30-minute unpaid break) Contract Type: Temporary to permanent position

This position offers an excellent pathway to permanent employment after a 12-week probationary period.

Key Responsibilities

As a Production Operative, you will be a vital part of the manufacturing and logistics process. Your responsibilities will include:

Machine Operation: Operating and monitoring machinery used in the production of glass products, ensuring efficient and safe performance.

Product Handling: Receiving, inspecting, and unloading glass products from suppliers while ensuring strict quality control.

Warehouse Organisation: Organising and storing glass products with proper labelling and adherence to safe storage practices.

Order Fulfilment: Preparing orders for shipment by picking, packing, and palletising glass products efficiently.

Inventory Management: Conducting regular inventory checks to maintain accurate stock levels and resolving any discrepancies.

Equipment Use: Safely operating and working in the vicinity of forklifts, pump trucks, and other warehouse equipment to transport glass products.

Team Collaboration: Working closely with colleagues to optimise workflow and meet production deadlines.

Safety Compliance: Adhering to health and safety regulations to ensure a secure working environment for all staff.

Warehouse Maintenance: Ensuring the cleanliness and orderliness of the warehouse in line with company standards.

Requirements

We are looking for individuals who possess the following skills and attributes:

Experience: Previous experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, or logistics environment is highly beneficial.

Machine Operating Skills: Experience in operating and maintaining production machinery is advantageous.

Product Knowledge: Familiarity with glass products and safe handling techniques is a plus but not essential.

Physical Fitness: Ability to work in a physically demanding role, including heavy lifting and extended periods of standing.

Attention to Detail: Strong accuracy and focus in performing tasks.

Organisational Skills: Effective time management and the ability to prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Tech Proficiency: Competence in using warehouse management systems and basic computer skills is preferred.

Team Player: A collaborative attitude with the ability to work independently when needed.

Safety Awareness: A commitment to following health and safety guidelines.

Forklift License: A valid forklift operator's license is desirable; however, training can be provided for the right candidate.
